New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS) Delhi High Court on Monday took suo motu perception of media reports about the passing of two people in the wake of breathing in harmful gases inside a sewer while one of them was cleaning a channel in Mundka region of the public capital last week.
Giving notification with regards to this issue, a division seat of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad looked for the reaction of the Chief Secretary of the regional government, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, and Delhi Jal Board.
Senior Advocate Rajshekhar Rao was designated as amicus curiae regarding this situation to help the court.
According to the news reports, on September 9, two people – Rohit Chandiliya (32) and Ashok Kumar (30) died in Mundka region in West Delhi after they breathed in poisonous gases inside a sewer.
Chandiliya, a sweeper at Delhi Development Authority pads, was cleaning a channel to fix the barricade however fell oblivious in the wake of breathing in the harmful gases inside. Kumar, a safety officer nearby, went into the pit in a bid to save him. In any case, he additionally felt bleary eyed and caught inside.
